Frequently Asked Questions

A hairdryer can help you get the hairstyle you want. However, you can achieve that only when you choose to hair dry the right way.

In case you do not do so, you can end up damaging it here as well. Today, we will not only help you understand how to use the Hair Dryer right but also answer your other questions pertaining to it.

How to use a hair dryer without damaging the hair?

There are a few steps you need to follow if you want to hair dry your hair without damaging it.

Step one: Ensure that your hair is dry before using the Dryer. In case it is not, use the top head to dry your hair.

Step two: Use a heat protector spray/solution to protect your hair against excessive heat. That way, you can dry your hair quickly without damaging it.

Step three: Always keep the heat at a minimum or at the most medium level. If you use the hair dryer at the maximum level, you are more likely to damage the hair.

Step four: Always check the hair in between to ensure that you’re not drying it excessively.

Step five: Use fluid motion to blow dry your hair rather than concentrating on a certain patch consistently.

Step six: Blowdry your hair only when it is extremely necessary and you are short on time.

Follow these few steps and it is easy for you to blow dry your hair without damaging it.

Why does the hair dryer have a hot air and cold air button? What is it for?

The hot air is to dry your hair quickly. It can also help you alter the shape and texture of your hair temporarily.

The cold air button is for setting your hairstyle. Also, the cold air button can help prevent extensive damage to your hair as well.

Instead of using only the hot air functioning of the dryer, use the cold air button as well.

Is it safe to blow dry the hair every day?

It is not a good idea to blow dry your hair every day. Doing so can damage your hair and eliminate natural oils from your hair.

If the damage reaches the cuticle, you will experience hair loss or hair breakage.

Hair drying on a regular basis can also result in frizz which can further deteriorate your hair quality.

Blow drying of the hair should be limited to only once every 3 to 5 days. On the rest of the days, even if time is of the essence, use a round brush to reduce the moisture content and it will dry the hair faster.

Using this method might take more time but does not cause any damage and doesn’t weaken the cuticles and therefore won’t cause any damage to your hair.

Even when you’re short on time, it is best to avoid blow drying at a frequency greater than the one that we have mentioned above. In the longer run, this will be detrimental to the health of your hair.

Using the hair dryer right can help you get the hairstyle you want. Once you get it wrong, you will end up damaging your hair. Not only that, the damage is most likely irreversible.
